arms linked   Link specified arms at elbow.

back allemande   Facing opposite directions, place l.arms behind own back, link r.arms and with r.h. take partnerÁs l.h. behind their back.

ballroom   Face-to-face, MÁs r.h. on WÁs back, WÁs l.h. resting on MÁs r.sh., WÁs l.h. in MÁs r.h.

hand-in-hand   If to turn slowly or lead, MÁs hand palm up WÁs palm down, but if to turn quickly, link upward-pointing thumbs and point elbows down.

high promenade   Side-by-side with partner M holds WÁs r.h. in his r.h. above WÁs r.sh. and WÁs l.h. in his l.h. in front of his own r.sh.

two hand   M offer both hands palm up and W place hers in them palm down, right in left, left in right, thumbs around otherÁs fingers.

crossed hand   M or W crosses wrists with thumbs pointing up and partner takes hold of hands so r.h. is in r.h., thumbs up, elbows bent.

short arm   Cup r.h. under partnerÁs r.elbow, careful not to grip r.thumb, and, cross l.arms over top, joining l.hs thumbs up.

skaterÁs   Side-by-side M and W hold r.h. in r.h. at waist height crossed under l.h. in l.h.. Also called low promenade hold.

waist-shoulder   Side-by-side M puts r.arm around partnerÁs waist and W puts her l.h. on MÁs r.sh.

wrap-up   From 2h hold M loops his r.h. with WÁs l.h. over her head as she turns a quarter cw to his r.h.side.
