JAFA 2014

"Mansfield Park - 200 years"

“ … the proposal was a very pleasant one … ”

From 10-13 April 2014 Jane Austen Festival Australia will celebrate 200 years since the the publication of Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park. To join in further conversation please join our facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/JaneAustenFestival

Thank you so much to those who have become inaugural "Friends" at http://www.earthlydelights.com.au/janeaustenfestival/jafa-friends . As a big thank you we are making 50 tickets available at last year's season ticket prices first to Friends - with our move to a professionally catered and serviced event at University House it has become obvious that our tickets must increase in price - but with your assistance in spreading the word to your friends, their ticket sales will help cover all our costs and ensure we have lots of friendly faces around us. We rely heavily on word-of-mouth for promotion of this special event.

We have 50 Season tickets available for $250* for Festival Friends until the 10 October or sold out, then there will be 100 season tickets available for $295*. Once these are sold all remaining season tickets will cost $345*. On the 10 October tickets go on sale to the general public. We prefer people to join us for the whole event but will make full-priced day or evening tickets available closer to the event.

Currently registered "Friends of Jane Austen Festival" will have many benefits - not limited to mailing of program brochure in January, first chance to enrol in discount earlybird tickets before they're open to general public, day "Friends" bus tour to Yass & the National Museum Archives on Thursday before the festival starts, antique costume study tables, and an opportunity to see one of Jane Austen's letters at the National Library of Australia.

We have reserved 40 beds at University House until the end of this year or sold out - but you must book your accommodation separately with University House, not us. Please make sure that you contact (02) 6125 5276 to book your room, making sure to let them know you are part of Jane Austen Festival Australia. The room-only rates do not include breakfast, so you can bring your own if you prefer to eat in your room (each room comes with a small kitchenette). The breakfast on-site at Fellows Cafe: Full hot/cold Buffet is $20 or the Continental is $15 (all but the hot choices). Fellows Cafe & Bar is open on Friday night and every morning, Boffins Restaurant is open in the evening for prior reservations. The rooming rates are pasted at the bottom of this page. Lunches, morning and afternoon teas are provided on Friday and Saturday, morning and afternoon tea on Sunday. Dinner is provided on Friday night and light refreshments are provided on Thursday and Saturday nights.

In January 2014 we will be opening our limited attendance registrations (Friends will have first choice) and mailing Friends a fully confirmed program. Non-friends will be emailed an electronic copy of the program. Please note that the program may change and that more items may be added in the interim.

How to purchase your discount earlybird tickets:

"Friends" can purchase their tickets online NOW at http://www.earthlydelights.com.au/janeaustenfestival/jafa-friends - where you can also buy Friends Membership.

We have some very special presenters on board next year from around Australia, including new presenters from Tasmania and the UK. Please do join us - and do note that we are scheduling talks and workshops for Sunday afternoon & early evening for the first time this year. If you are planning to join us for the 19th Century Costume, Dance Retreat at Yarrangobilly Cave House from the following Monday, we have just 5 beds left that can be booked at http://www.earthlydelights.com.au/dance-events/upcoming .

Please note that all transactions are non-refundable but are transferable, and that by purchasing a ticket you are acknowledging that photos and/or videos may be taken of you that may be used for future festival promotions.
