Canberra, ACT

I'm an artist, dancer and maker of things. I have a BFA in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute, with a secondary focus in performance art, particularly contemporary dance. I've danced professionally with The Susan Warden Dancers, Jo Ha Kyu Performance Group, Lance Gries, Fred Darsow, Amy Cox, Molly Rabinowitz and Malene Lotz to name a few. I designed and constructed the costumes for many of the dance works in which I performed, including a 14 member Gagaku orchestra in traditional Japanese kimono and hakama.

My husband, son and I moved from Sydney to Canberra in 2008. I discovered Earthly Delights Dance Academy in 2009 and attended my first Jane Austen Festival in 2010. I enjoy learning and performing historic dance, creating historic garments, being a good mom, and making children's toys out handmade felt, wood and wool. My felt prawns are to die for.

I hope to finally make my husband the historic garments he deserves. He needs them all. He's been patiently waiting for his Col. Brandon ensemble for a couple of festivals. If I can get him looking the part, we'd be thrilled.

For myself, I want to accessorise and embellish. I'd like to work on my embroidery with a few reticules, and I have another spencer planned. I need all the extras like chemisettes, gloves, bonnets. And of course, it's always fun to do another gown!
