The pages in this chapter
offer reviews and contents of the band Earthly Delights' recordings
and of John Garden's books, as well as easy options for ordering any
work which appeals. There are also links off these pages to audio
samples, dance instructions etc.... so lots to explore. Two of our
works are no longer in print but our two most recently released works
are and have been receiving wonderful reviews - hope you'll have a
read. We also hope that you will put to use the final page in this
chapter - the one which give you options To
Order. Lost Dances of Earthly Delights Volume 1 and Volume 2 The culmination of years of work, each A4 spiral bound volume has instructions for (and historical notes on) 64 dances, chorded musical notation to about 200 tunes (arranged in 64 sets to match the dances) and 4 full-length full-band CDs containing recordings of all the music for the dances. Vol. 1 is an enlarged edition of the book and 4CD set released in 2000 and called by Freefolk.com 'a masterwork' and by Roots World Bulletin 'truly impressive', 'a necessary item for American dance enthusiasts', 'a work of substance' and 'a labor of devotion to the dance traditions which have nurtured so many cultures'.
Vol. 2 is an entirely new book and 4CD set, presenting more exciting hitherto unknown material and with new members and friends of the band Earthly Delights offering outstanding new sounds on bourrées, hambos, jigs, polkas, schottisches, marches, mazurkas, minuets, pavans, galliards, varsoviennas, waltzes and zweifachers. Enough
instructions for countless evenings of fun dancing and enough
music for nearly 10 hours of good listening!
