Dance Classes at the ANU in 2010
Starting on Saturday 6 March 2010
We have secured a new home for our Dancing on the Lake!
The ANU Sports and Recreation Centre is being made available
to us on Saturday afternoons from 4pm to 6.30pm during
University semester.
First semester will be running from 6 March 2010 to
5 June 2010 and skipping only Easter and 3rd Saturday
of the month ball/dance dates.
As at ‘Dancing on the Lake’, we’ll
be covering 500 years of dance and catering for all levels,
taking beginners from scratch while saving the last ½ hour
for more advanced students to get into full gear.
People will have to pay the ANU SRC for the whole semester
in advance, but we are going to keep the cost to just
$115 Sports and Recreation Centre members (usually means
ANU student and staff)
and $135 for non members (and this is about the same
price most ANU courses charge for just 1 hour!).
This will cover 10 classes so is only a few dollars more
than subscribers were paying for Dancing on the Lake.
Musicians who are working with the instructor won’t
have to pay.
Pay in person at the front desk in the last week of
February or call (02) 6125 2273.
Class participants will need to bring their own bottle
of water
(water bottles and t-shirts with class logos are available
from http://www.cafepress.com.au/jafa)
and smooth soled shoes - please do not wear rubber soled
shoes or stiletto heels. |
Wednesday Night Extension Classes
Starting 3rd February
We have
rearranged our home studio to make it an even more attractive
dance practice venue and will be making it available
for an extra class on the 3 Wednesday evenings before
each ball.
The combined price for the 15 classes and the 5 balls
between February to 19 June will be $215
($175 less than
total of individual prices),
and for those paying for
the ANU course the price will be just $135
($300 less
than paying for components separately).
We are offering this special so last
year’s ‘everything’ subscribers
won’t end
up paying a cent more to do the same next year (have
calculated it all on pro-rata basis) and so those who
can’t make every Saturday or
Wednesday will still feel they can afford to still sign
up for everything and keep in touch with our continuing
dance adventures.
